Oleksandra Romantsova, the Executive Director of the Center for Civil Liberties in Ukraine, has been a human rights defender with the Center since 2014. She has been the Executive Director since 2017. The Center was a co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2022. She now oversees the documentation of war crimes caused by Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine and conducts advocacy as part of the global initiative "Tribunal for Putin.” Previously, Oleksandra coordinated the mobile observation of human rights violations and war crimes in eastern Ukraine and monitored political persecution in occupied Crimea in response to the Russian invasion and annexation in 2014. She is also an active participant in field missions in the Kyiv region. Oleksandra holds three master’s degrees, in International Economics, Project Management, and Conflict Management and Mediation.
