Sheila Fitzpatrick is the Bernadotte E. Schmitt Distinguished Service Professor Emerita of Russian History and the College in the Department of History at the University of Chicago. She holds a doctor of philosophy from the University of Oxford and has authored and contributed to numerous publications, including several books on the Russian Revolution and the decades that followed.
