Tatia Skhirtladze is an artist and filmmaker living in Vienna, Austria. After finishing her studies in art education in Georgia as well as in Austria and fine arts in Netherlands, she has been teaching Video Art at the Institute of Art Sciences and Art Education at the University of Applied Arts Vienna since 2011.Tatia Skhirtladze integrates autobiographical storytelling and site-specific research into her long-term conceptual artworks that develop over the course of many years. Her first feature Documentary, Glory to the Queen, about female chess stars of the Cald War era Nona Gaprindashvili, Nana Alexandria, Maia Chiburdanidze and Nana Ioseliani, premiered in September 2020. It made its journey trough various festivals worldwide and has been released in cinemas.
