Valerii Otiakovskii is a postdoctoral fellow at the Davis Center. His first monograph, based on his Ph.D. dissertation, studies the institutional framework of the Formal Method (or the Formalist community) in Leningrad of the 1920s. Valerii’s current project aims to discover the social practices of the Junior Formalists in the era of Stalinism. His research interests also include the history of East European avant-garde and its reception. Valerii also serves as a literary critic and co-editor of the Post(non)fiction literary project.
