Victor Martinovich, Ph.D., is a Belarusian writer, playwright, art historian, and public intellectual. Martinovich is the author of six fiction novels and seven theatrical plays, with Paranoia, Night, Mova, and Revolution recognized internationally. (In May 2024, Mova won a major Latvian prize for best fiction book translated from a foreign language.) His novels and plays combine elements of social fiction, parable, and realistic depiction of post-Soviet social processes. Plays based on his works have been staged in Hamburg, Munich, Vienna, Minsk, Innsbruck, and St. Petersburg. 

Martinovich is an associate professor at the European Humanities University (Vilnius, Lithuania) where he teaches courses on the arts and humanities and philosophy of culture. As an art historian Martinovich is interested in Belarus-born painters of the École de Paris and Vitebsk avant-garde, which was the subject of his Ph.D. thesis.
