The Initiative for Analyzing Post-Soviet Reform Proposals, led by Davis Center visiting scholar Irina Busygina, examines and compares current institutional reforms and reform proposals advanced by ruling elites, opposition groups, and external actors in former Soviet republics, applying a specially developed matrix.
At this event, the initiative's research team will present their first round of key findings — on Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Moldova. The seminar will touch on variation and similarities among the cases, including drivers of reform, the impact of the “Russia factor,” and divisions between conservative and reformist elites.
