Professor Hélène Landemore will begin this panel with a discussion of the concept of open democracy, a model of democratic accountability based on alternative forms of popular representation.  Landemore’s goal is to deepen the engagement of ordinary citizens in political life.   In our webinar, Georgi Derlugyan (NYU, Abu Dhabi) and Giga Zedania (Former Rector, Ilia State University), will examine the potential of such models for the Caucasus.
