Dollarization, neo-liberal policies, and inflation targeting: what do these mean for the South Caucasus? Ia Eradze and Vache Ghazaryan, fellows at the Davis Center, and Dimitri Gugushvili, researcher at the University of Leuven, will discuss the current state of economies in the South Caucasus, specifically in Georgia and Armenia. Combining academic expertise and practical experience, they will talk about the role of banks and the broader economy in the region. Dr. Ia Eradze will start the panel with a discussion of her new book, Unravelling the Persistence of Dollarization: The Case of Georgia (Routledge, 2022).
