Abigail Gipson earned her master's degree from the Davis Center's REECA program in 2023. During her second year, she was an innovation fellow with the center's Imperiia Project. Abigail graduated from Indiana University in 2019 with a bachelor's in international studies. Her undergraduate research focused on music production and language revitalization in Tatarstan. Afterwards, Abigail completed a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship in Izhevsk, Russia. She also has a background in communications and audio/video production. Her research interests at the REECA program included literature of the Volga region, governance in the Russian Empire and the early Soviet Union, and language policy.
