Alex Niemi is the translator of The John Cage Experiences by Vincent Tholomé (Autumn Hill Books, 2020) and the author of the poetry chapbook Elephant (dancing girl press, 2020). She is the translator of For the Shrew, by Anna Glazova.

Anna Glazova's For the Shrew and Leonid Schwab's Everburning Pilot will appear in English translation this fall. Our seminar will welcome both poets and three of their translators -- Alex Niemi, Alexander Spektor, and Anton Tenser -- to read from the books and answer questions about the poems, the translations, and the current state of Russian poetry.
