Cynthia Simmons is currently Professor Emerita of Slavic Studies at Boston College. She has continued to mentor BC students who study abroad in the BC in Croatia program in Zagreb (where she taught summer 2023 and/or who wish to apply for grants or scholarships in the region). She has also been engaged in philanthropic work in Sarajevo, Bosnia, which has led to her current interest in tolerance education (her current research project). She continues to review scholarly work in her areas of expertise/interest, particularly pertaining to women and war.
