Dana Masalimova is a former diplomat with the Foreign Service of Kazakhstan. She was appointed alternate permanent representative to the International Maritime Organization in 2021 and served as head of economic affairs at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in London. She was a political affairs officer in Washington, D.C. In 2009-2010, she spent a year at Columbia University’s Harriman Institute in New York on the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program. Dana holds a master of science degree from the University of Surrey, U.K., and a master of public administration degree from the Harvard Kennedy School where she received the Eric Yankah Award for Distinguished Contribution to the Edward S. Mason Program and Harvard Kennedy School. 

Dana was a Fellow with the Davis Center for academic year 2023-2024, and a Visiting Scholar for academic year 2024-2025.
