Iryna Kovalchuk

Iryna is a linguist (M.A., Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Ukraine), community organizer (post-graduate certificate, University of Warsaw, Poland) and cultural manager. She is fond of juggling and mixing these identities. Fluent in Polish and Ukrainian, Iryna is also used to inhabiting and moving between multiple linguistic spaces. Prior to coming to Harvard, Iryna worked at the Adam Mickiewicz Institute in Warsaw, where she managed the Eastern Partnership program, promoting Polish culture in Eastern Europe and the Southern Caucasus by organizing and supporting multi-annual projects in the fields of theater, film, visual arts, and music. Iryna served as an editor of the Ukrainian editions of Czesław Miłosz's (Велике князівство літератури. Київ: Дух і Літера, 2011) and Janusz Korczak's (Право на повагу. Київ: Дух і Літера, 2012) essays, which she also co-translated from Polish. Her other interests include movement and art as a part of the language classes curriculum and nature education.
