Iryna Voloshyna is a PhD Candidate at the Department of Folklore and Ethnomusicology at Indiana University Bloomington. She is also a founding artistic director of Indiana Slavic Choir, and a board member of the Ukrainian Studies Organization at Indiana University.
Her research interests include politics of culture; nationalisms; migration and diaspora studies; critical heritage studies; material culture; Slavic and east European folklore; Ukrainian traditional music and arts. Preliminary dissertation title: The Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus of North America: Tradition and Transition in Diaspora.
