James Gethyn Evans

James Gethyn Evans (he/him) has worked in communications and public affairs at Harvard's Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies and the university's Graduate School of Design, as well as Weber Shandwick in Beijing and London. He has a background in public policy and digital communications across Europe and China. James read philosophy, politics, and economics at the University of Oxford before studying Chinese language at Beijing Language and Culture University. He is a graduate of Harvard’s Regional Studies East Asia program, where his thesis on China’s foreign relations with the Third World won the Joseph Fletcher Memorial Award. He is currently studying for a Ph.D. at Harvard’s Department of History, where his research focuses on China's relations with the Global South.
