Jemma began a Ph.D. in Slavic Languages and Literatures in the autumn of 2022, after having graduated from Oxford University with an MSt in Russian Literature and Culture. Jemma's research interests include queer contemporary cinema from the former Soviet Union, iconography, and the interrelationship between music and dance in ballet performance. Jemma is also co-founder of daikon* zine, a platform for the writing and art of South-East and East Asian people of marginalised genders based in the global West.
