Nadia Kaneva

Nadia Kaneva, PhD, is Professor of Strategic Communication in the Department of Media, Film and Journalism Studies at the University of Denver. She serves as Director of the M.A. in Media and Public Communication and the Graduate Certificate in Public Diplomacy. Her research advances critical perspectives on nation branding and public diplomacy and explores the intersections of media, markets, and power. Her current project focuses on strategic communication in the Russia-Ukraine War and examines how new modes of propaganda and geopolitical meaning making emerge in response to the rise of networked digital media, transnational promotional discourses, and global consumer culture.
