Join us for a presentation of the Blavatnik Archive’s digital collections on Soviet history, World War II, 20th-century Jewish culture, and the Holocaust. Many of these collections contain popular and personal artifacts—postcards, photographs, illustrations, posters, and letters—which serve as unique windows into the lived, everyday experience of history. With their striking visuals and engaging, human content, these primary sources can help students form a stronger connection to the course material in fields such as history, social studies, and media literacy. The website’s digital tools allow for both independent, open-ended research and the curation of resources for specific lessons and projects.
The presentation will feature collection highlights, introduction to the Archive’s website, and examples of classroom use provided by scholars and educators working with our collections.
