Anastasia Taylor-Lind is a British-Swedish photojournalist and poet interested in issues related to women, war, and violence. Anastasia is a National Geographic Society Explorer, TED Fellow, and 2016 Harvard Nieman Fellow. She has been reporting on violence for 20 years and working in Ukraine since Russia's war against the country began in 2014. Anastasia’s first book, Maidan — Portraits From the Black Square, documented Ukraine's Revolution of Dignity and was published by GOST Books. Her poetry focuses on contemporary conflicts and the experiences she cannot photograph. In 2021 Anastasia’s debut collection, One Language, won the International Book and Pamphlet Prize awarded by The Poetry Business and was published by Smith|Doorstop in 2022. For the better part of a decade, Anastasia has been collaborating with Davis Center alumna Alisa Sopova.
