Dan Epstein is the assistant director of the Scholars Without Borders program at the Davis Center and a lecturer in government at Harvard University.
After finishing his Ph.D. in 2008, Dan completed a post-doc at the Skalny Center for Polish and Central European Studies at the University of Rochester, where he taught courses on democracy and Russian politics. He moved to Russia in 2010 as a Fulbright scholar and visiting professor at Bryansk State University. Dan has also taught political science at Colgate University, Texas Tech, and most recently MIT.
Dan has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals, including Party Politics and REGION: Regional Studies of Russia, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia, and worked as a field organizer for Bernie Sanders's 2016 presidential campaign.
Dan received both his B.A. in Slavic languages and literature and his Ph.D. in government from Harvard University.
