Nicholas Castillo is a master’s student in the Davis Center’s REECA program. He specializes in the contemporary politics of Eastern Europe and the Caucasus, with interests in politics, security, conflict studies, illiberalism, nationalism, and identity. Nicholas holds a B.A. in political science and international relations from George Washington University and between 2023 and 2025 worked for the Caspian Policy Center (CPC), a think tank focusing on Central Asia and the South Caucasus. His writing has appeared in outlets including The Moscow Times, DOXA Journal, The Russia Program at GWU, Russia.Post, and regularly on the CPC's webpage. He also authors the Eastern Neighborhood Bulletin, a Substack newsletter covering Eastern Europe and the Caucasus. Following his time at Harvard, Nicholas hopes to pursue a career in political analysis or journalism.
