Former Senior Member of the Joint Technical Secretariat of Afghan Peace Negotiations, IRoA

Sayed Madadi worked, until recently, as Director of Foreign Relations at Afghanistan’s State Ministry for Peace, where he was also a senior member of the Joint Technical Secretariat of Afghanistan Peace Negotiations in Doha, Qatar. He was previously Director General of Afghanistan Civil Service Institute and a Legislative Advisor for the Independent Elections Commission. Madadi was a Graduate Fellow at the Center for International Conflict and Negotiations at Stanford Law School and a Hurford Fellow at the National Endowment for Democracy. His writings have appeared in academic journals such as Stanford International Policy Review and the Journal of Security and Strategic Studies as well as in the Atlantic, War on the Rocks, Foreign Policy, National Interest, Al-Jazeera, Diplomat and BBC. Madadi holds a MA in International Policy from Stanford University, a MA in International Relations from New York University where he was a Fulbright Scholar and a BA in Political Science and Public Administration with a minor in Law from the American University of Afghanistan.
