Join our Visiting Scholars Program for its latest Visiting Scholar Seminar, featuring two presentations that explore China’s, India’s, and Russia’s economic and political activity beyond their borders.
Fulbright scholar Pëllumb Çollaku will kick off the seminar by discussing his research project, "The Effects of Economic Regionalism in Attracting Inward FDI: The Case of Central European Free Trade Agreement." In addition to more general questions about the impacts of regional economic integration on foreign direct investment and trade, Pëllumb investigates whether CEFTA integration has facilitated "hostile” FDI from China and Russia into sectors considered a national security priority by host countries.
Visiting scholar Magsud Mammadov will then discuss his research project, "Asian Giants on a New Frontier: Understanding China’s and India's Strategic Engagement in South Caucasus Geopolitics." Magsud's research examines the expanding influence of China and India in the region and explores what drives their increasing engagement with Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia.
If you would like to attend their talks, please make sure to register.
The goal of these biweekly seminars is to provide an informal setting for our scholars to share progress on their research and to receive feedback from and/or generate discussion among the broader Davis Center community.
