Join us for “Teaching Russian Industrialization: A Multi-Perspective Approach,” a workshop for K–14 educators that explores the transformative processes of Russian industrialization from economic, gender, and data perspectives. Participants will examine how industrial corporations were financed and organized, analyze industrialization in Stalin’s Russia from a gendered perspective, and work with a dataset of factories from late Imperial Russia to better understand patterns of industrial growth. Through a combination of lectures and interactive data analysis, educators will gain concrete strategies for integrating primary sources, comparative perspectives, and basic data literacy into their classrooms, helping students think critically about industrialization as a complex economic and social process.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

There is a $35 registration fee. Checks need to be made out to the President and Fellows of Harvard College and either mailed ahead of time to the mailing address below or brought to the workshop. If you pay in cash, please bring the exact amount.
