Svetlana Rukhelman oversees the Davis Center Collection at Harvard's Fung Library, curating and enabling access to the library's holdings. She conducts research consultations, library orientations, and instruction sessions to support scholarship and pedagogy on the region at the Davis Center and beyond. Svetlana is passionate about connecting students, researchers, and community members with the library's unique historical collections through exhibitions, tours, web exhibits, and digitization projects.
Svetlana holds a PhD in comparative literature from Harvard University and an MLIS degree from Simmons University. Before joining the Davis Center library in 2014, she taught Russian literature and language at Harvard and Macalester College. Her courses covered such topics as Soviet-era satire, science fiction, and fate and fatalism in the Russian narrative tradition.
